Fedex shipped my package too late?

I ordered a $40 dress for my boyfriend's graduation from school of infantry for the marine corps. it said it would be here by the 24th. the day after I ordered it it changed to the 23rd. I'm leaving the 25th, so both of those were fine. Now today it says it's not going to be here until the 27th, which is two days after I'm leaving. So now I have nothing to wear and wasted about $50, after shipping. I already called and complained once but the girl said there was nothing she could do. would it be pointless to call and ask for the manager?
