Does Fedex Express ship (not deliver) on weekends?

I bought something online and the payment is supposed to have sent through by Friday. I ordered with Fedex Express and I was just wondering if they would start shipping on Friday and throughout the weekend? It would be coming from America to Australia. Last time I ordered, my package was here in 3 days. I need this to come any day next week, just not on Wednesday! Should everything be alright?
